London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority

Faithorn Farrell Timms was appointed by the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority, for a three-year term beginning in September 2005, to provide a range of Employer’s Agent, architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering, and CDM Co-ordinator services.

Our client has responsibility for 116 stations throughout Greater London. These include a wide variety of Victorian Listed buildings through to a number of purpose-built and very substantial 1960's properties, many of which provide offices for administration support and safety teams.

On-going work programmes are needed to maintain the good working condition of old buildings and for conversions to meet the changing requirements of the London Fire Brigade.

Faithorn Farrell Timms has received 65 new instructions to date, including a major refurbishment with building costs expected to be in the region of £700,000, and a cyclical redecorations programme over four years with a total cost of £4m.

We are also providing professional advice on a substantial proportion of their portfolio in relation to Work at Heights Regulations 2005, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and new obligations that these place upon the employer and building owner.
