Health & Safety Consultancy Services for TVHA

the project

Faithorn Farrell Timms (FFT) were appointed by Thames Valley Housing Association (TVHA) as Health & Safety Consultants to review their health and safety procedures and documentation covering their head office in Twickenham as well as their satellite offices to ensure compliance with statutory legislation.

Our client also required quarterly visits to their offices to ensure any improvements suggested within our initial report had been implemented and to monitor continuing compliance. We also developed safe systems of works for TVHA’s activities.

our role

FFT initially undertook a review of TVHA’s health and safety procedures and documentation, producing a detailed report with our findings and areas for improvements as well as an action plan. We also provided assistance to help deliver any of the required changes.

As well as quarterly visits, we attended regular health and safety meetings, providing advice where necessary. FFT contributed to TVHA’s health and safety policy, alerting our client to any significant changes to legislation and lastly, providing assistance in compiling their annual health and safety plan and report for their board.

  • In order to complete our review, FFT had to understand the intricacies of our client’s everyday business and different working practices throughout each office.

the solution

In order to understand our clients brief, we interviewed staff to gauge their requirements and understand what they had access to centrally for their satellite offices. We developed a positive health and safety culture within the business and enabled the client to be self-sufficient and review their documentation internally once our contract ended.

added value

FFT collated information held at the satellite offices, such as Legionella Testing, PAT Testing, staff training records etc. into an understandable and useable programme for when such tests and training were due for renewal and review. Our Senior Associate, Shane Jeeves, also provided 24/7 telephone support to TVHA throughout the duration of the project.
