Celebrating National Apprenticeship Week
5 February 2024
At FFT, we’ve always been steadfast supporters of people skills and careers development and are proud to say we do all we can to help members of our team achieve their personal and work-related goals.
The future of the sectors we work within depends upon the skills, knowledge, and dedication of the next generation of industry specialists. With this in mind, we have a number of initiatives in place to support our people in achieving a range of qualifications, from CPD and structured training to on-the-job learning, workshops and mentoring.
We also ensure that these qualifications are backed up by what we consider crucial soft and social skills. This includes developing an appreciation of the ‘bigger picture’ in decision making, and considering how value can be added, not just for our clients, but for the communities they serve.
Over the years, we have supported and coached numerous team members through a variety of courses, from RICS Chartered Surveyors and Expert Witnesses to MScs in Building Surveying, BScs in Quantity Surveying and countless other diplomas and certifications.
Through our Apprenticeship Scheme alone, we have committed 25 years of learning and have proudly seen a number of successful candidates achieve their career goals and then go on to pursue further qualifications under our wing, as well as rise through to the ranks to more senior positions.
Senior Partner Colin Farrell says, “Since we started out in 2001, we’ve always said that supporting the progression and development of our people will support us in making sure our clients receive the best possible value and highest levels of expertise and service.
“It is also vital in today’s fast-changing landscape to ensure we equip the Practice with the strongest possible armoury in terms of knowledge, skills and dedication, so that we can continue to grow and better support our clients, their communities and their regulatory and ESG commitments.”
In celebration of National Apprenticeship Week 2024, we will be sharing with you some stories from recent apprentices. Look out for our posts over the next few days!
