FFT A Main Sponsor of the South East Consortium Annual Conference

8 November 2021

This year’s, in fact this week’s South East Consortium annual conference, SEC2021 is making a return on Wednesday 10th November 2021 after the full event was put on ice last year due to the pandemic. Entitled, ‘Challenge, Opportunity & Enabling Change’, its overriding theme is based around reconnecting the housing sector after a demanding year.

The day will focus on exploring challenges and opportunities, and enabling change. A panel of speakers is poised to share a variety of insights, with an engaging agenda planned to fill the day.

Shape of Shortages – Exploring the impact of COVID, chaired by Colin Farrell

The agenda will run across three sponsored zones. FFT will be a main sponsor of one of them, which will kick off by delving into the HOW BIM Research Programme, before moving on to a session exploring the impact of COVID.

Chaired by FFT partner Colin Farrell, who will be joined by Jeff May, Director of Government Relations & Business Development at the Construction Products Association, together with a representative of the Construction Youth Trust, the session is entitled, ‘Shape of Shortages’, and will look at the impact of a lack of skills, labour and materials in the sector brought about by the pandemic and other factors.

Visualising Energy – a Facilitated Forum by Alan Asbury

Later in the day, Alan Asbury, Chartered Energy Manager and Company Director of CLS Energy (Consultancy) Ltd, will host ‘Visualising Energy’ in partnership with FFT.

The session will address the real-world experience of a chartered energy manager. Using images and case studies, it will demonstrate the benefits and pitfalls of managing energy, and reducing carbon from a tangible perspective. Designed to help encourage a more holistic view of how things are and how best to address it, Mr Asbury’s session, in his own words, will act as a ‘crash course introduction to carbon and its relation to energy and climate change’.

Following this session, Dr Gaby Wolferink, Head of Data Services at DTL Creative will chair UnCON Live, a discussion around innovation cultures.

Established in 2005, South East Consortium (SEC) is a not for profit membership organisation providing public procurement services. Originally created to support the housing sector, the body has grown to provide services to a host of public sector organisations and its members own more than 443,000 homes between them.

Set to be an insightful and informative event, SEC2021 takes place on Wednesday 10th November 2021 at the London Stadium at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London E20. The agenda starts at 9.30am with a welcome address from Marc Baines, SEC Managing Director.

We hope to see you there.
