Newly Appointed Partner a Shining Example of Personal Ambition and Practice-Wide Investment in People

3 April 2023

We are delighted to announce that Shane Jeeves has become a Partner of FFT as of 1st April 2023.

Shane joined FFT in 2010 as a CDM Coordinator (Principal Designer) and, over the past 13 years, has excelled through the ranks to become what Senior Partner Robin Faithorn describes as an ‘excellent ambassador for the Practice.’

Shane is a passionate construction and fire safety professional and takes pride in managing his team of (in his own words) ‘equally passionate professionals’, all dedicated to improving health and safety across every project they’re engaged in.

Cutting his teeth on the front line

After cutting his health and safety teeth on front line construction sites in his native South Africa, Shane moved to the UK to progress his studies in the field of construction health and safety. As the environment has evolved, so Shane has continued to develop his skillset, adapting to industry, regulatory and political changes and guiding his clients through the variable and sometimes unpredictable health and safety landscape.

Heading up our Principal Design and Compliance Safety team, Shane is heavily involved in education, healthcare, residential, leisure and public sector projects, providing Principal Designer and CDM co-ordinator services on schemes up to £100 million in value. He has also developed specific expertise in the specialist area of fire safety services, including fire risk assessments, compartmentation surveys and cladding and door surveys.

FFT: Supporting personal ambition

Combining his own personal ambition, determination and dedication with FFT’s commitment to the career and personal development goals of its staff, Shane has been driven and supported in working his way upwards within the Practice to become a successful team leader and role model for his colleagues.

Shane’s long list of professional memberships is testament to the ongoing hard work he has put into his career. He’s a Technician Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers (TIFireE); a Certified Member of the Association for Project Safety (CMaPS), a full member of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (MIIRSM); a Technician Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (TechIOSH), and a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health (FRSPH).

What’s more, in 2019, Shane became Chairman of the London branch of the International Institute of Risk & Safety Management.

Shane has been involved in some highly noteworthy projects, including providing fire consultancy services to Shepherd’s Bush Housing Group in a contract worth £1 million, and Principal Designer services to Red Kite Community Housing for a £5.5 million contract involving the demolition of an existing community building followed by a 30-unit residential new build development.

As well as developing bespoke health and safety management systems for clients across a range of sectors, Shane is very much hands-on when it comes to producing and presenting seminars focusing on construction and fire health and safety and general safety legislation.

“An excellent ambassador for the Practice”

Senior Partner Robin Faithorn says, “Shane’s rise to the position of Partner reflects his unwavering hard work, commitment and ambition.

“With a focus on maintaining and building client relationships, diversification of services and commercial acumen, Shane has successfully grown his team into a high-performing part of the business with a significant volume of repeat commissions. He is an excellent ambassador for the Practice, and an inspiration to anyone pursuing their personal development and career ambitions.”

We all join together in congratulating Shane on fulfilling his ambition of becoming a Partner at FFT.
