Vanguard Community Kitchen Opening

FFT was delighted to attend the official opening of the Vanguard Community Kitchen, following an extensive refurbishment – a project we were proud to support as part of our social value commitment to the local community.

The event, hosted by MTVH’s Chair, Althea Efunshile, and CEO, Melbourne Barrett, brought together faces from all over the local community for a wonderful gathering with encouraging messaging around “keeping the conversation going” between Metropolitan Thames Valley and the community, and enabling the community to “not just survive, but thrive!”

Our team had a fantastic time chatting with many residents, who shared how the new kitchen will positively impact their lives and help strengthen the community. A big shoutout to Sharon, Shen, and the entire Roundshaw Community Network for their incredible work!

FFT assisted the project for MTVH in managing the full kitchen redesign, from initial layouts to final installations, transforming this space to serve the local community. This new commercial kitchen will enable the Community Centre to provide meals on a much larger scale, offering vital support and relief to local families.

Beyond design, we worked closely with local companies and suppliers to stock the kitchen with essential ingredients and supplies, helping to create a welcoming hub where people can gather, share meals, and build connections.

With the kitchen now open, the Vanguard Community Centre is ready to expand its programmes and continue as a central, supportive space for the Roundshaw community!
